College Archives gets Facelift

A major renovation of the Archives Building has been in progress since June 2024. Though minor repairs were done occasionally, this is the first major renovation after establishing it in 2002. The following activities are being done.

  • Renovating floor

During the initial construction parquet was used for the floor as it is elegant due to its wooden finish. However, termites damaged some parts of the parquet heavily. Also during the rainy season, the parquet floor pops up from certain places due to moisture. Therefore following the architect's advice it was decided to remove the parquet and cut and polish the floor to give it an ancient look. Also, tiled skirting is being removed and cement skirting is being added.

  • Cutting and polishing cement sections around the doors and windows.
  • Repairing and polishing doors and windows
  • Painting inside
  • Painting outside in white replacing the brick red colour on the request of the Principal
  • Painting work of grills
  • Painting steel H irons of the concrete roof
  • Polishing of the name board
  • Replacing LED daylight bulbs with warm white on the advice of architects
  • Fitting steal electrical boxes to the electrical sockets on the floor
  • Fixing a CCTV camera system
